The parent of Walt Disney World on Wednesday reported that it earned $1.7 billion, or 79 cents a share, during the quarter ended Dec. 30. During the same quarter in 2005, the company earned $734 million, or 37 cents a share. Excluding gains from the sale of its interest in E! Entertainment and Us Weekly, it earned 50 cents a share, which blew past the 39 cents a share that stock analysts had expected. The results were announced after the stock market closed. Theme parks and resorts operations posted modest returns during the quarter, with year-over-year revenue rising 4 percent.

One Minute Video Review: Samsung Z560 mobile phone

Susi's been playing with Samsung's Z560, which is the company's new HSDPA phone. That means all those Web-savvy creative types, the people who post skateboarding videos or write a review about the neighborhood dry cleaner, could be compensated for their contributions. The move to pay people for content had been developing slowly but reached a critical new phase when YouTube.com, the Internet's bellwether video site, confirmed Monday that it has plans to pay for user-generated content. The decision sets up the potential for a monumental shift in how people use and view networking sites. Until now, as user-generated content on the Web has grown, the only people making any money have been the site operators.

Review video review: Blackhawks

The Blackhawks have asked the NHL to add video reviews to the agenda at the next board of governors' meeting, after a possible goal by Denis Arkhipov was disallowed upon review during a 4-3 shootout loss Sunday at Minnesota. It was he who spread the message of non-violence and how powerful the tool was to achieve solution to issues. Violence generates more violence and consequently suffering. Bapu, by following the path of truth, gave direction to the society at large. Even today his teachings are alive and guiding the nation. Our ancestors followed Bapu's path of living and also inspired the next generation to follow the same. It is for this reason that today even if the young generation does not know about him, they are following his path knowingly or unknowingly. Bapu continues to inspire our hearts even today. In this situation if a person speaks evil of Mahatma Gandhi or ignores him, then it is not a matter of his self-inspiration. Rather it reflects he defies his own culture.

Police seize Sheik's Muslim kill videos

FIREBRAND cleric Sheik Feiz Mohamed's defence of his comments on a DVD calling children to jihad has been undermined by revelations, the video also urges Muslims to kill the enemies of Islam and praises martyrs with a violent interpretation of jihad. Looking like its season was about to head south five nights earlier when it was soundly beaten to a pulp by Calgary, the Wild has remarkably reversed its road fortunes and returned to the Twin Cities on Sunday night with its third consecutive road victory, a 4-3 shootout win over the Chicago Blackhawks. "The guys know how to win on the road now," coach Jacques Lemaire said gleefully. "And Jacques told us before the trip he'd be happy with .500," added Brian Rolston. But this one wasn't without controversy. The Daily Mail reported that the video clip, that also shows Spears detailing her belief in time travel, was viewed more than 3 million times during 2006 making it the year's most-viewed online clip. The singer's video clip narrowly beat out one of her ex-husband, rapper Kevin Federline, receiving her text message that she was planning to end their marriage. That embarrassing video was viewed nearly 2 million times during the year and easily surpassed the approximate 1 million 2006 viewings captured by a third-place clip of "Seinfeld" actor Michael Richards making racist comments in public.

Comments on this Story

We welcome your comments on articles, editorials, columns, other topics on StarNet or any subjects important to you. Before we go on, lets call it what it really is: Grand Theft Bicycle. Bully features the same sandbox action gameplay thats elevated the Grand Theft Auto series to the top of the gaming world, only without the same levels of violence, adult language and jiggly parts. Initially, Bully feels cramped and a bit linear. With the day and night cycle, Jimmy must sleep every night (eventually passing out if he doesnt make it to bed on time). At its CES press conference, SanDisk Corporation introduced the USBTV, which, as the name suggests, hopes to accomplish the feat using the USB interface. USBTV is a new platform that will enable consumers to transport downloaded digital content from a personal computer by using a small flash memory-enabled media player and plug-and-play it directly on virtually any TV. While more consumers are watching video on the Internet, their preferred entertainment center remains the TV. Once they've taken the time to download and store personal videos and movies on their PC, consumers often want to enjoy that content with others in the living room.

Fitness video review: A few rise above the tier of tired ideas

With cold weather coming, you probably are more likely to stay home and pop in a fitness video than venture outside. But each video has a definite shelf life. You get sick of the same routines and the same congratulating leader (even when you are slacking). So you seek a new one. The good news is that plenty of new videos are on the market. The bad news is that not much seems really new. Here are a few (of dozens out there) that strike different chords. More videos these days are mindful that you are too busy or too preoccupied with this or that "trouble spot," or too prone to become bored if they let you change things up. Some have done a good job meeting those needs. Remember, you can find deals on Amazon.com and other Web sites. Also, consider borrowing from a friend to see whether the tone and pace are right for you.

Video clip on counter terrorism efforts to be aired on TV

SINGAPORE: The Home Affairs Ministry has produced a one-minute video clip on counter terrorism efforts in Singapore. It encourages the public to be vigilant while taking the public bus service and to report any suspicious behaviour. The video clip will be broadcast over MediaCorp channels and TV Mobile from 26th December. In doing so, the ministry hopes to reach out to a wider audience to bring home the message that everyone has an active role to play in countering the terrorist threat. But it makes clear the broadcast of the video clip is not a result of a specific threat against Singapore. - CNA/so .

Vida Guerra, Jim Jones & Young Jeezy Notarize Best Videos of '06

In celebration of the new year, BET is set to countdown the 100 hottest hip-hop and R&B videos of 2006 with the day-long "Notarized." I have no clue why we decided this is something we needed to try, but we quickly discovered that staying home and practicing knife tricks was a lot more attractive than going to class. After a few weeks of practice along (not to mention some cut-up fingers) we weere pretty good. We discovered that twirling knives around was a fun way to get attention in bars and parties. It was pretty sad, as gimmicks go, but we enjoyed it. It was easy to find how-tos on balisong tricks online, but what about other "skills?" If you want to know how to best throw a frisbee, spin a pen, or do street ball tricks, where do you turn? How do you learn cool stuff? Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, R-Fla., appears in the 28-second clip being circulated on the Internet by the makers of a new British documentary, "638 Ways to Kill Castro." In it, she says: "I welcome the opportunity of having anyone assassinate Fidel Castro and any leader who is oppressing the people." However, the Havana-born lawmaker, recently tapped to become the top Republican on the House International Relations Committee, says the filmmakers spliced clips together to make the sound bite. The 18-year-old had apparently committed suicide. The young man's threat prompted a major alert across the Baden Wurtemburg region, with some colleges closing down and others only opening under police protection. He'd made the vow to kill students at Offenburg technical college while playing the online network game "Counterstike", and the incident has reawoken the debate on the influence of such violent video games - a youth who opened fire on a Further Education college in Lower Saxony last month had also left a message in the Counterstrike chatroom forewarning of his attack. He injured 37 people before killing himself - prompting some states to prepare legislation that would ban the sale of violent video games to under 18s.

Upon further review, it's time to kill video review

If it hasn't been done already, there should be a special room in hell reserved for whoever introduced replay review to the world of football. Oh sure, it has saved a few teams from losing because of bad calls, but it's done little else besides make long games even longer, give referees more camera time and bring excitement grinding to a halt faster than a Stephen Harper speech. When done properly, it's a minor nuisance. When handled badly, it's a disaster. Case in point: the review of Argo Ricky Williams' fumble in yesterday's CFL East final. The game, which was bordering on dull in the first half, had picked up dramatically in the second with the Argos on their way back. But it wasn't the fumble that killed the joy as much as the replay review.

Video Venture Brings TV Quality to Company Videos as Dobson PR and ...

New York, NY (FV Newswire) - In business, gaining a competitive edge requires getting key business messages across to carefully targeted audiences and presenting a company and its products and ideas in a creative and professional way to set them apart from the competition. Do you know of any other ways of doing it? Yes, as a matter of fact, there's actually a very easy way of doing this it's called YouTube. YouTube allows you to upload any video clip. It also allows you to embed a video clip hosted by them on your website or blog. So combining the two does exactly what you're looking for. There is, therefore, two steps to this: 1) upload the clip to YouTube, and then 2) embed the video on your website/blog. To upload a video clip to YouTube: Go to www.youtube.com. Register as a user. Login if you are not automatically logged in after registering as a user. On the top of the YouTube website, on the right-hand side there is a link that says "My Account".

Utopia faces Monday deadline; WATCH VIDEOS

PRESTON -- Deadlines for Utopia Studios always seem to carry a sense of suspense. Check it out at this location. LULLACRY is currently writing material for the follow-up to its fourth studio album, "Vol. 4", which was released in the U.S. in February via Century Media Records. The CD was recorded at Astia Studios with Anssi Kippo (CHILDREN OF BODOM, ENTWINE) and at Finnvox Studio with Mikko Karmila (NIGHTWISH, STRATOVARIUS). LULLACRY's first single off the new album, "Stranger in You", entered the Finnish single chart at position No. 16 upon its release in July 2005. The title cut was backed by a cover of KISS' "I Stole Your Love". LULLACRY issued a five-song EP, "Fire Within", in August 2004, featuring two new songs ("Fire Within" and "The #1 Rebel"), two remakes of classic LULLACRY tracks, as well as a cover version of W.A.S.P.'s "L.O.V.E.

GEMA is demanding royalties for YouTube videos from Google

The German Society for Musical Performing and Mechanical Reproduction Rights (GEMA) is demanding that Google pay royalties on account of its video P2P network YouTube. A spokesman of GEMA has told the German business daily Handelsblatt that the society is currently involved in talks with the Internet group. In October Google had bought YouTube for 1.65 billion US dollars. "We do not intend to wait until the negotiations have come to an end but have already pointed out to Google those instances at YouTube in which rights of our members have been infringed," the GEMA spokesman added. The society had demanded that Google delete all pertinent videos that contain non-licensed music, he went on to say. A Google spokesman has meanwhile said that the company is prepared to accede to the demand. But mild is a relative term, and the firm is incensed by the way some people make fun of the wholesome image it has been cultivating all these years. The 18-second video, showing Jolibee and Hetty having sex, is posted on the popular website www.youtube.com. "We regret to inform you that a video depicting our well-loved Jollibee mascots in a distasteful situation is now circulating online," said Tence in an e-mail sent to the media.

Affleck video clip sparks outrage

Hollywood star Ben Affleck has outraged fans after a video clip of him groping a female interviewer circulated on the internet. In the video Affleck asks the interviewer if she has a boyfriend and then gropes her breasts, according to The Sun.Later on, he suggests that she carry out the interview topless. The clip is from the promotion of the 2004 film Jersey Girl, in which Affleck co-stars alongside his then girlfriend Jennifer Lopez. .

Videos Of Assaults Found On Middle School Student's Phone

Police have launched an investigation into a series of attacks being carried out by middle school students after videos of the assaults were found inside a cell phone confiscated from a 13-year-old Portola Middle School girl last week, El Cerrito police Detective Cpl. Donald Horgan said. From looking at the videos on the phone, Horgan said that it appeared that middle school students had been sneaking up to other students and slamming into them while other students filmed the attacks on their video cell phones, Horgan said. Several fights also filmed by cell phones, in which the people being attacked "came up bloody," appear to have taken place off school grounds, Horgan said. None of the fights or so-called "body-check" incidents had been reported to police, Horgan said.

VIDEO GAME REVIEW Mortal Kombat flirts with Armageddon

It started with one idea, a final hit to "finish" your opponent as an insult. Then came the idea, a stroke of genius that's brought millions, if not billions of dollars since: fatalities. Controversy over the classic head rip, heart punch, decapitating uppercut, and brutal electrocution is the stuff Mortal Kombat was sold on. We land at Mortal Kombat Armageddon, years after gamers realized how terrible the original entry was in the gameplay department. Oddly enough, the franchise morphed into a deeply complex brawler, easily consuming far more practice time on a per character basis than the entire roster of the 2-D games combined. Armageddon changes nothing, sticking with the new formula that received mixed reactions, while tossing in enough extras to state truth when the term "complete" is used.

ABC News Video Clip with INSTEON

I thought I would share another video clip with the cocooner community. :D It might not be as exciting as the Halloween demo from a few weeks back but still worth a look. This clip aired on ABC news last week. As previously reported, a five-minute video of SLAYER guitarist Kerry King signing autographs for fans and discussing the band's current tour while on the road in Santiago, Chile late last month has been posted online at this location. SLAYER's South American tour in September marked the band's first dates there in more than eight years. The group is scheduled to kick off the European leg of the Unholy Alliance tour on October 20 in Den Bosch, Holland. Also appearing on the bill are IN FLAMES, LAMB OF GOD, CHILDREN OF BODOM and THINE EYES BLEED. I always feel bad when I can't get any artist a little bit of exposure through my writing because I know very well how important it is for them to get their music in front of the public. After all, no matter what I think of their songs personally, the ultimate judge and critic is going to be you, the listener. You cast your "vote" for a band every time you buy, download or stream one of their songs. With that in mind I decided to do a little roundup of some of the new albums, songs, and videos from indie bands that I get to see and/or hear every week. I am not going to pass any judgement on them here, just make you aware of them so you can listen to them or watch them if you wish and make the whole "trash or treasure" judgement for yourself.

Review: Japanese Video Games Translate Well Into English

Maybe your daughter has become attached to Hello Kitty. Your little brother may be hooked on manga. Perhaps you can't get enough of those creepy horror movies, like "The Ring" and "The Grudge," based on Japanese thrillers. Video games are to blame. - Click here to visit FOXNews.com's Video Gaming Center. For a few generations now, video games have been a Trojan horse for Japanese culture in the United States. Peculiarly Asian characters — ninjas, samurais, wide-eyed talking animals — have become familiar to kids who grew up playing "Final Fantasy" and "Pokemon." Even a seemingly Western espionage game like Hideo Kojima's "Metal Gear Solid" bears an unmistakable Japanese flavor. The success of those titles has opened the door for games with an even more pronounced Japanese accent.

The Guardian Video Clip : Ice Cold

We have a brand new video feature for The Guardian this one is called, Ice Cold and is a 2 minute clip from the movie. "It shouldn't have happened... with kicks.. (I) don't agree," he told reporters when asked to comment on the video clip shown by TV3 on its Buletin Utama news programme last night. He said Deputy Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Musa Hassan, whom he had contacted over the video clip had assured him that the case was being investigated. Mohd Johari, who is also Kubang Pasu Member of Parliament, said the incident was believed to have occurred at Subang Jaya police station in May. "It's too early to comment on it but I hope to receive a full report on the incident," he said, adding that he himself had watched the news bulletin.

Intel Security and Mobility Videos

PCMagCast is pleased to present two videos sponsored by Intel which were broadcast during our Virtual Tradeshow on Security & Mobility, August 23-24, 2006. That is essentially the Saints Row experience. Saints Row goes far beyond simply borrowing a few elements of gameplay from the Grand Theft Auto franchise. It is a pretty faithful copy, changing names, maps and models but only minimally changing the core gameplay (or fonts for that matter). You start out creating your own future hoodlum. "But we comply with certain guidelines when it comes to congressional inquiries," Tolentino said. On Monday, Airman First Class Julius Seriosa and Staff Sergeant Cirilo Calaycay were briefly detained at the House after lawmakers investigating the spate of extra-judicial killings of left-wing militants mistook them for being agents of the Intelligence Service of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (ISAFP).

Video review: the Samsung NV10 interface

There are many cool aspects to Samsung's new NV10, not least the striking design that looks a million dollars, the 10MP sensor and the anti-shake for low light shooting. What got us tropically hot under our safari collars, however, was the unique touch-control interface on the back. Now, we know what you're thinking: Sony's DSC-N1, Kodak's Easyshare One and the Pentax T10 all have touchscreens and none of them are great shakes. The One is a particular stinker for ease of use. We've just received our NV10 sample, though, and the Smart Touch interface is something a bit special, as you'll see by playing the video below.A row of seven touch-sensitive buttons run underneath the LCD, while six more run up the side. On-screen, adjacent to each button is a little symbol - AWB for auto white balance, say - which, when you press it, fires out a list of options that you select using the other row of buttons.Sound complicated? Describing it is, but when you pick the camera up, it proves to be incredibly intuitive: you'll soon find yourself boasting to friends about how the joy of tweaking settings is much easier using and X and Y grid reference system. So far, we love the NV10.

Here’sa little video clip to brighten up your day …

Summary: Hands down, Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert were the highlight of the 2006 Emmy Awards. Presenting the award for "Best Reality Show," (or something along those lines) Colbert makes his feelings about Hollywood known. Highlight: Stewart and Colbert are the funniest guys on television, so when you put the two together, hilarity inevitably ensues. And of course, nothing beats Colbert bitterly scolding the Academy for honoring Barry Manilow instead of him. Seriously, what were they thinking? That's because they had already seen a video about China's fur industry released by Care for the Wild International and Swiss Animal Protection and aired by the BBC last year. A video so gruesome--(www.animal-protection.net)--it inspired an internationalboycott of Chinese products andSir Paul McCartney to renounce performing in China. Unfortunately, the expose didn't register so much as a hiccup in the global fur industry. Mink pelts were up 33% in April at the Renton, Washington auction, the largest fur market in the United States. Bobcat pelts were fetching $300 a piece as emboldened trappers killed 1,500 cats in Utah last year.

Video review: Samsung X820

It's hard for a phone to command attention at Stuff, especially when up against the latest and greatest from Nokia, Sony Ericsson and Moto's holy trinity. Samsung's new X820, however, has been wowing everyone who's picked it up.Measuring 6.9mm deep, it's fatter than an iPod Nano but skinnier than a Motorola SLVR; as our video review below demonstrates, it's also far slimmer than a Williams pear. The build quality's surprisingly good. Despite the wafer-thin dimensions, it feels sturdy and has a good bit of weight (66g) in the hand - the only thing we'd complain about is the cheapness of the plastic finish. Motorola's RAZRs, by comparison, come blessed with a more expensive-feeling veneer. As you'd hope, it's a passable phone too, with call quality on a par with rivals and Samsung's interface performing an adequate job of getting you to settings, photos, messaging and more.

New Day Watch Video Clip

A new trailer for Day Watch has gone online at Fox Atomic. To say this movie has some good vibe would be a huge under statement. Watch the trailer over on Fox's Atomic films site. In Daywatch, A thousand years ago two forces met on the battle field, the warriors of light and the army of darkness. As the battle raged, the two forces proved to be exactly balanced, and so a decision was made maintain that balance and the two sides came to an agreement that neither side would breach. And to enforce the agreement two watches were formed: the Day Watch and the Night Watch. The Night Watch is composed of the forces of good who work keep the forces of evil from breaching the agreement and vice versa. The watches continue today... T-Mobile looks like it will win the race to be first to market with its MDA Vario II, which goes on sale next week. Here's a vid and a mini review The phone is pretty similar to the Vario I but with the following key differences. 1 HSDPA - Yep it will be able to run at speeds of up to 1.8Mbps - four times faster than standard 3G. T-Mobile claims to have HSDPA across most of the major UK cities, which is far more developed than say Orange. Ultimately the speed of HSDPA does improve the web browsing experience on the phone - pictures certainly load much more quickly. The other key use for the phone in this space will be as a modem for laptops, though if you plan to use it in this capacity check out T-Mobile's data fair usage rules.

Video clip recorder of exam cheats reveals identity

VietNamNet Bridge - The video clip recorder of exam cheats in Nam Dan School in the central province of Nghe An with the nickname Edu 2 agreed to disclose his identity Thursday. Edu 2 is the nickname of a geography teacher named Le Dinh Hoang, 29, who has graduated from the Hue Pedagogy University and been teaching at Thanh Chuong semi-public high school since 1999. In the latest national high school graduation examination he was assigned as a supervisor at Nam Dan 2 School. He recorded video clips with his mobile phone and launched them online to provide explicit evidence of exam cheats. The video clips were sent to the website edu.net.vn of the Education and Training Ministry (MET). The four clips entitled "Inside Exam Room", "Keys-to-Test-Paper Distribution", "Geography Examination", and "Foreign Language Examination" contain pictures of unsupervised exam corridors, invigilators seated in the corridor acting as lookouts for students cheating inside, examinees snatched test papers from others.

Fans Express Anger At Fake Steve Irwin Death Videos On the ...

Fans of the recently deceased Crocodile Hunter Steve Irwin have expressed their outrage against certain fake videos of his death that have been posted on the internet. Suddenly the insider is on the outside, running for his life and trying to determine who framed him. He fails a polygraph test. There is excess money in his bank account. And it was his informant who first tipped the service to the plot. Welcome to "The Sentinel," a serviceable thriller set in the world of political security. Pete's an earnest guy who doesn't always operate by the book. For one thing he's having an affair with the First Lady (Kim Basinger). For another, his primary nemesis within the service (Kiefer Sutherland) still suspects Pete of having bedded his wife.

International award for WFP's Ronaldinho video clip

A WFP-produced public service announcement (PSA) against hunger showing soccer star Ronaldinho about to eat a football with a knife and fork, has won a prize at the International Award for Sports Communication in Trieste. Irwin was killed by a stingray while diving in Australia's Great Barrier Reef last week (04SEP06). The acclaimed naturalist was being filmed for a children's documentary when the stingray speared him in his heart and killed him. Official video tapes of Irwin's death are in the custody of Queensland police, but fans have been flooding the internet with fake videos of Irwin's last moments. And 24,000 people have already visited video website YouTube.com, which shows a cartoon Irwin swimming in the sea as a stingray attacks him and a 'Game Over' sign pops up. The fans posting videos claim the videos are memorials and not parodies. Irwin once insisted, "My number one rule is to keep that camera rolling.

Video review: iPod video headset for the fashion unconscious

While weve always been on the Star Wars side of the Trek vs Wars debate, well happily jump ship for the short-term to support this crazy new iPod accessory.
